Catholicism on the Isle of Wight has an interesting history. One of the consequences of this is the variety in style of our different churches, including the oldest post restoration Catholic church in England.

There are churches in Newport, Ryde, Sandown, Shanklin, East Cowes, West Cowes, Bembridge, Ventnor and Totland Bay. There two abbeys, several convents and a lay community. There are primary schools in Newport, Ryde, East Cowes, Ventor and Totland. Christ the King College offers secondary education, it is a joint Anglican/Catholic school in Carisbrook.
