Treasurers' Group Constitution 2011

Aims

• to give advice, as requested by Parish Priests, and to provide support and advice to parishes with their budgets
• to assist in sharing best practice amongst Catholic parishes on the Isle of Wight
• to provide support for Pastoral Area initiatives for the mutual benefit of all parishes

Mode

• The work will follow Canon Law.
• Each parish will be represented by the Parish Priest and one member of the Finance Committee, usually the chair.
• Meetings will be held twice a year and will focus on setting and reviewing progress of budgets. Working groups may be asked to meet occasionally for particular projects.
• Meetings require representation from at least four parishes. In the event of the unavoidable absence of a Parish Priest he is requested to leave with the Co-ordinating Pastor his thoughts for the meeting.
• The Co-ordinating Pastor will appoint a Chair and Secretary from within the group.
• The group will liaise with the Pastoral Area Pastoral Council.
• Each individual parish maintains its autonomy. The group can encourage participation in any group activity.
